I’ve been wanting to write this piece for the last few months ever since United announced their new flights. I know many people who have gone or will be going this summer. I wanted the chance to share this with you in hopes it will inspire you to get off the fence and DO SOMETHING EPIC for your vacation this summer. Now, join me for a little adventure…
Close your eyes and imagine this: you’re standing in an otherworldly place. There’s no sound except the gentle lapping of icy water. Around you, towering icebergs glow with a blue like you’ve never seen before from the Arctic light. No crowds. No noise. Just you, nature, and the kind of memories and stories that stay with you forever.
Welcome to Greenland…one of the few great unspoiled natural adventures in the worldBut unfortunately, here’s the sad truth. As we saw with Iceland it won’t stay this way for very much longer.
Greenland is About to Change in a Huge Way so Experience it Now
Until now, Greenland has been a secret shared by a few very travelers craving a unique adventure. But not for much longer. With United launching direct flights from Newark this summer and SAS expanding routes from Copenhagen, this once-remote destination has gotten a lot more accessible.
Each flight brings hundreds of new visitors to tiny villages with just a few hundred residents. That means the days of having this magical place to yourself are numbered.
The time to go is not “sometime”— it's NOW.
This Is Much More Than a Vacation — It’s a Life-Changing Story
Greenland doesn’t offer your typical tourist attractions. What it DOES offer is transformation. Utter awe. And stories you’ll tell for the rest of your life.
Stories like the moment you spot a whale gliding effortlessly through the water, its tail lifting in a graceful arc, surrounded by snow-covered cliffs...
...or the deafening silence as your small boat floats beside an iceberg the size of a mountain.
Or that feeling somewhere deep inside you when you glide through a frozen tunnel of blue ice, knowing that this moment…this exact view…has never existed before and will never exist again.
You Don’t Just Visit Greenland — You EXPERIENCE It
Everything here feels like something out of an alien planet. The ice glows. The air smells fresh like something from another plance and time. And the sunsets? That’s where some of Greenland’s most powerful magic is on display: they turn glaciers into shimmering mountains of fire and ice.
Greenland reminds you what it means to feel alive. It strips away the problems and worries of modern life and reconnects you with a childlike wonder…real, magical, and a belief that anything is possible.
Ok, sure, I know what you’re going to say, and yes, it might be cold. You might need to board a tiny little red propeller plane with “Air Greenland” on the side….but who can so no to a livery like this?!
But one thing I will promise to you is that if you go you’ll step off grinning like this
This is the Moment…Now is the Time
In a few years, Greenland will be a hotspot. I’ve seen it happen over and over in my travels. Angkor Wat. Iceland. Machu Picchu…places that were once the domain of only the boldest of travelers have become places shared by throngs of tourists. While it’s fantastic more people are getting to experience these places, the solitude will shrink. The ice almost certainly will too.
But right now, it’s still wild. Still real. Still yours to explore.
So don’t wait. Get out those frequent flier miles. Pack your curiosity. Explore beyond your comfort zone. Discover a place that few will ever see — and be one of the lucky ones who can say, I was there when...

🔗 Pro Tips:
Flights on United from Newark (EWR) to Nuuk are seasonal. While they’re on a domestic plane it’s a short flight!
SAS also offers new connections via Copenhagen for those based in Europe, Africa, or Asia.
Book early: Greenland’s infrastructure is small — and that’s part of the magic. It’s not too late for this summer, but the best deals are going fast. Hotels, guesthouses, and especially epic tours like whale safaris and iceberg cruises will sell out quickly.
Comments are a good place for people to give other such current spots to hit before a visitor explosion. My nomination: Labuan Bajo/Flores Island in Indonesia. A new airport and increased flights mean people are starting to skip the Bali crowds for this spot. New high end hotels are being built, diving is still affordable and great, still sleepy towns, and day trips to see Komodo dragons.
